The return of a Worldmusic classic
A wide open horizon beneath an endless sky, mountains of majestic beauty, rivers cutting their way deep into the rock since millions of years – images like these have appeared in the minds of countless listeners by the music on “Gates To A Secret Reality” in the mid-nineties. With this album the Austrian composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Gandalf had moved a giant step closer towards a new kind of world music.
It was inspired by encounters with the culture of the American Indians, especially their close relationship to nature and their awareness of the connections between all of us and the world we are living in, between the elements and all living creatures.
On a concert tour through Brazil in 1995 Gandalf had met the English cellist and vocalist Emily Burridge, who had been living with a tribe of Brazilian Indians several times and working with Roger Daltrey, George Michael, Chrissie Hind, Jools Holland, Zero 7, Stereophonics and Hans Zimmer. During a couple of live-shows together with Gandalfs group she proved to be the perfect creative partner for “Gates To A Secret Reality”. Her melodious cello-lines, gently woven into Gandalfs multi-coloured textures of sound and rhythms, and her vocals on three of the tracks give the music a very special note. Peter Aschenbrenner, long-time member of Gandalfs live-band on flute and saxophone, and Gandalf himself on a variety of electric and acoustic guitars, Charango, Saz, Piano, electronic keyboards and percussions also turned “Gates To A Secret Reality” into a unique listening experience in 1996. Today it is as fascinating as it was then.
Third album by Paul Heinerman
Paul Heinerman as a composing artist is devoted to Ambient music. His first album„The Ancient World“ was played and composed all by himself. For his second album „Private Sun“he has chosen to work with people like Cees van der Meulen, Bram Schenk and Pjotr Jurtschenko.
In between Heinerman released his titles on more than 30 Compilations, his music can be heard on the boardprogram of the biggest international airline companies and it is used on television in Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Hong Kong and Great Britain. In the first days of July Paul finished his studio-work for the new album.
Oases is an exciting new chapter in Paul Heinerman's discography. This time it is all about ethnic fusion and powerful rhythms. This new album is a musical journey through the ‘oases’ of our world.
It enhances a visit to countries as: Ireland, Greece, North Africa, India, China, Japan and Native America. Based on a modern groove, using synthesizer and sampling technology, it is his intention to bring different worlds of spiritual music together in each song. This album should be a musical example of integration of cultures and that it may be an inspiration for people to live well together on this earth
Jaya Lakshmi is releasing her third album on Prudence Records
Jaya Lakshmi's 'Radiance' Shines
Oregon's Jaya Lakshmi's effervescent, yet relaxing, music for the human spirit is a very moving exploration of inner peace, beauty, and transcendence. Each song is unique and incorporates Jaya's serene vocals. The addition of the Celtic flute, Spanish guitar, sarod, cello, keyboards, Bansuri flute, and other elements make Radiance a truly enjoyable listening experience. The instrumental interludes and segues provides an added, therapeutic sensation. The tranquil, yet melodious musical structures, is perfect for yoga, relaxing, or a world music party. "Sita Ram" is a particularly beautiful and catchy tune that should not be missed. The music does not fit any one category of world music, but it draws upon Central and South Asian musical traditions, while infusing vocal arrangements similar to contemporary bands from Scandinavia, and even a slight nod to the band Enigma. In summary, Jaya's Radiance shines beyond borders. Produced by Steve Gordon, features top-notch global guest artists and is very acoustic, intimate and serene. Jaya is joined by Deva Priyo (Lost at Last) on Spanish guitar and sarod, Vince McClellan on bansuri, Native American and Celtic flutes and Nishya Calkin-Godfrey on cello. Lakshmi's song writing on Radiance is her best yet, with many beautiful melodies that will leave you with a tranquil glow. Lakshmi sings with the deep inner peace that comes from many years of leading kirtans in yoga studios and concerts throughout the country. Refresh your spirit - relax and nourish your soul with soothing mantra music that has a Celtic folk flavor.

Opera meets Ambient and Pop!
Danish singer Helene Horlyck is hailed among insiders as one of Europe's most interesting vocalists in the domain of pop/classic crossover. Especially in Great Britain producers highly value her vocal art, her versatility and her exquisite musical taste – and book her for sessions with a diversity of top acts like Paul Oakenfold, Basement Jaxx, Jimmy Cliff, Chris de Burgh or Apollo 440.
Her first merits in the ambient genre the classical trained singer has achieved through her participation in two projects of Danish producer and longtime Enigma-coproducer Jens Gad: the internationally acclaimed debut of his formation Achillea in 2005 and his solo-album “Le Spa Sonique”.
But Helene's own solo-album was overdue: On “A Nordic Room” she presents a sensational combination of Opera, Pop and Ambient music, as it has never been heard before. Both fans of Ambient music and friends of cultivated crossovers of Pop and Classical music will love it.
